Intuition Summer Festival 2009

The Intuition Summer Festival has grown into one of the top beach events of The Netherlands. Many years ago it started out as an intimate event in Scheveningen but two years ago the concept moved to the popular Bloemendaal where it grew out to be one of the busiest beach events of the summer. On Saturday the 8th of August the Intuition Summer Festival will once again become the Mecca of all Dance music enthusiasts in The Netherlands, with 13 hours of non-stop Trance and Progressive beats.

In the meantime the Intuition Summer Festival has become more than just an event. Sun, sea, the beach, friends and some of the hottest names in the scene provide a magic experience for the senses, especially when combined with more light, sound and production than ever!

Intuition head honcho Menno de Jong gives us the rundown on his favourite event: “The Intuition Summer Festival is something I look forward to all year long. It’s a unique experience to have so many different nationalities together on the beach with such an amazing atmosphere. Everybody who wonders what the Ibiza feeling is like, or has already experienced it but wants to enjoy it in The Netherlands for a change, this is the perfect opportunity!”

Hi, I’m Menno. What’s your name? I’d be delighted to meet you. In fact, I’d love to meet you this summer. I’m DJing at Global Gathering all over the world this year and I’m looking for people to party with. I like to party, do you like to party? Lets find out. One of my favourite things to do is play the music I love really loud and put my hands up. When I put my hands up, I let go of everything that might be troubling or distracting me in life. For just that moment I live in the moment, when otherwise I spend every other day of my life worrying about tomorrow. Is that how you feel too? If so, we might be more alike then you think.

Perhaps we can put up our hands together. Do a little dance, jump around and smile at people we might not even know. You’d be surprised what great things can happen when you smile at a stranger and maybe even talk to them. Don’t take it to serious, just look at the person standing next to you at a party and tell them: “I’m having a fucking amazing time, what about you?”

Godskitchen is going Global, and I’m going to be there. I’m very excited. Going Global for me doesn’t just mean long flights, stamps in my passport and checking in-and-out of another hotel, it means meeting new people, hearing new stories and feeling inspired and together. Together as one, for the music. That is what Global Gathering means to me.

Sneak Preview: Last Light Tonight

Recently I returned from a bit of a quiet period due to graduating from university with a remix for Alex M.O.R.P.H. – Regrets. The first of many new own productions is now ready for you to hear! After collaborating with Leon Bolier many years ago to make the EP ‘Solar Express – Magma & Momentum’ we have gotten back in to the studio to make the brand new trancer ‘Last Light Tonight’. The track will be out on Intuition Recordings this summer, sometime around sunset.

The track will be appearing on my brand new mixcompilation ‘Intuition Sessions Vol. 2: Ipanema’ to be released in August and is also featured on Leon’s new CD ‘Streamlined: Buenos Aires’. It doesn’t stop there, Lange has picked it up for his ‘Intercity Summer’ compilation and Godskitchen featured it on their official Poland compilation for 2009. This week Leon has been over at my place again to work in the studio on a B-side, which is turning out to be a smooth Tech-Trance track, will give you guys the exclusive on that one asap too!
